The Court Circular is the authoritative, historical record of official engagements of members of the Royal Family. It features details of places visited in the UK and overseas, duties undertaken, Royal audiences and meetings held by members of the Royal Family, ceremonies attended, and official Royal appointments.

An account of the previous day's Royal engagements is printed daily in the British newspapers The Times, The Daily Telegraph and The Scotsman, as well as appearing online here.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE: His Excellency Mr. Nkwelle Ekaney was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Cameroon in London.

Mrs. Ekaney was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Peter Ricketts (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Governor-General of St. Lucia (Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy) was received by The Queen.

Ms. Kamela Palma was received by Her Majesty upon her appointment as High Commissioner for Belize in London.

Mr. Justice MacDuff was received by The Queen upon his appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.

The Baroness Thornton was received by The Queen upon assuming her appointment as a Baroness in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Lord Brett, the Lord Patel of Bradford, the Lord Tunnicliffe and the Lord Young of Norwood Green were received by The Queen upon assuming their appointment as Lords in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30 p.m..

There were present: the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell MP (Minister for the Olympics and Paymaster General), the Rt. Hon. Beverley Hughes MP (Minister of State, Department for Children, Schools and Families) and the Rt. Hon. John Healey MP (Minister of State, Communities and Local Government).

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Baroness Royall of Blaisdon had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, this evening attended the Centenary Reception at Coutts and Company, 440 Strand, London WC2.

CLARENCE HOUSE: The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince's Trust, this morning received Mrs. Martina Milburn (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, received Mr. Adam Leach (Director, International Business Leaders Forum).

The Prince of Wales, President, King Edward's Hospital Fund for London, received Sir Cyril Chantler (Chairman).

His Royal Highness, Patron, British Youth Opera, this evening attended a Dinner and Concert at St. James's Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the Kennel Club Charitable Trust, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Kennel Club, Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London W1.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE: The Earl of Wessex this evening attended the Annual Torch Trophy Trust Awards at the Army and Navy Club, Pall Mall, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE: The Princess Royal this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from New Zealand.

Miss Amy Briggs was in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE: The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon attended a National Vocational Education and Development Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Order of St. John, this evening attended a Dinner given by the Priory of South Africa at the East India Club, St. James's Square, London SW1.

ST. JAMES'S PALACE: The Duke of Kent this morning visited Rye College, Love Lane, Rye, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Peter Field).

His Royal Highness afterwards officially opened Rye Community Primary School, the Grove, Rye.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Woodland Enterprise Centre, Hastings Road, Flimwell, Wadhurst, East Sussex.

His Royal Highness later officially opened Burslem Stonemasons, Stubby Grove Works, Bells Yew Green Road, Frant, East Sussex.

The Duke of Kent, President, this evening attended the Stroke Association Royal Lecture at the Royal College of Surgeons, 34 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2.

THATCHED HOUSE LODGE RICHMOND PARK: Princess Alexandra, Deputy President, this afternoon visited the British Red Cross Society, 44 Moorfields, London EC2.
