W is for Windsor Castle

This very old castle was first built by William the Conqueror as a fortress. It was built on a steep rock so that it was hard to attack. The castle has grown a lot since then and today has over 1,000 rooms with beautiful pictures and furniture. St. George's Chapel is in the grounds of the castle, and is the home of the Order of the Garter. Today The Queen often spends weekends at Windsor. You can visit the State rooms in Windsor Castle most days in the year.
